The basement acts as a step between the detectors,
sitting at 20 milliKelvin (mK), and the amplifying equipment in the
Tower,
which operates at temperatures ranging from 600 mK to 4 Kelvin.

Side coaxial assembly
The coaxial assembly sends data from the
detectors to amplifiers in the Tower via superconducting wires,
before the information is received by computers outside the
