All matter (and radiation) does indeed exhibit wave properties. The most fundamental physical theory, quantum field theory, gives quantum wave properties to particles. But, this does not suggest that they are "sound". Sound is the vibration of air waves (or water waves, which is why you can hear under water). The waves of quantum field theory are much more complex and as yet, we don't know anything about the medium in which they propagate -- or if there is a medium at all. So, "waves": yes -- "sound": not really. Scott Armel-Funkhouser UCBerkeley
